LightHouse — Ingest Documents

The LightHouse — Ingest Documents task massively imports documents present in an authorised folder and organises them in the Document Library.

Source configuration

Field	Description
Dry run	Analyzes files and shows what would be processed without creating documents.
Source folder	Authorised folder from which to read documents.
Recursive	Includes subfolders.
Included files	Patterns of formats to ingest, for example *.pdf, *.docx.
Excluded files	Patterns to ignore, for example temporary files.

The folder must have been made available to the organisation. The task neither shows nor returns the physical location of files.

Destination

The Collection strategy determines how to organise the contents:

• Existing collection: select an accessible document collection.
• Single new collection: create a single collection for the entire import.
• Collection per subfolder: transform subfolders into distinct collections.

The Duplicate handling allows skipping the document, creating a new version, or keeping it as a separate item.

Limits and completion

You can limit:

• maximum number of files;
• maximum size of a single file;
• overall size;
• maximum number of tolerated errors.

With Wait for completion the workflow proceeds only after the outcome of the ingestion; disabling it, the task immediately returns useful references to subsequently check the operation. If waiting is active, use timeout and check interval consistent with the quantity of documents.

Results

The task returns a summary with analysed, created, updated, skipped and unprocessed files. It does not include physical paths or information on internal configuration.

Recommended procedure

1. Run a Dry run with reduced limits.
2. Check filters, expected collections and possible duplicates.
3. Disable the Dry run and run the ingestion.
4. Verify status and quality of documents in the Document Library.
