New Workflow
Creating a workflow starts from the Designer Workbench.
Opening the creation window
- Open Designer from the top bar.
- In the Workbench tab, select Create.
- Choose Workflow.
Sybot opens a single window for creating Sybot workflows and BPMN processes.
Choosing the type
- Sybot creates a low-code workflow based on the available tasks in the Workflow Designer.
- BPMN creates a process to be modelled in the BPMN designer.
The type determines the editor and the object's behaviour. Verify this before proceeding.
Filling in the data
- Name: identifies the workflow in the Catalogue. Use a short and descriptive name.
- Description: clarifies the objective, input, and expected output.
- Projects: at least one must be selected and defines the contexts in which the new workflow will be inserted. Available are the Projects in which you have the Owner or Editor role.
- Roles: define who can access the workflow.
- Category: allows filtering and organising the Catalogue.
The creation button becomes available when all mandatory data is valid.
Creating and opening
Select Create and open Designer. Sybot:
- creates the new object;
- adds it to all selected Projects;
- makes it available in the Catalogue based on permissions;
- opens the corresponding designer in an internal tab.
In the Workflow Designer you can add tasks, connections, and configurations. For the full path consult Workflow Designer and Using tasks.
Best practices
- Explicitly state the purpose in the description.
- Assign only the necessary roles.
- Use a category consistent with other objects in the project.
- Choose the Projects that represent the correct operational contexts.
- Complete and verify the flow before enabling operational use.
