Connections

The Connections section allows authorised administrators to set up reusable connections for Tasks that communicate with external systems.

When designing a Workflow, the designer selects a connection by a recognisable name, without having to include sensitive information managed by the administrator within the Workflow.

Create a connection

  1. Open Settings and then Connections.
  2. Select Add Connection.
  3. In the New connection form, choose the type proposed by the interface.
  4. Enter a unique name and a functional description.
  5. Fill in the configuration fields shown for the chosen type using approved data only.
  6. Select the authorised roles.
  7. Set the desired status and save.

Required fields change dynamically based on the selected type. For an Oracle connection, the form also requires indicating whether the database name identifies a SID or a Service. This public documentation does not include schemas, example values, or specific details of configured connections.

warning

Do not include secrets in the name or description. Do not copy sensitive values into screenshots, tickets, logs, or shared documentation.

Visibility in Workflows

A connection can be selected in a Task only when:

  • it is active;
  • it is compatible with the Task;
  • it is available for at least one of the Workflow roles;
  • the user has the necessary permissions.

If an expected connection does not appear, check these elements or contact the connection owner.

Use a connection in a Task

In compatible Tasks:

  1. choose the mode that uses a pre-configured connection;
  2. select the connection from the list;
  3. complete the other functional fields of the Task;
  4. save;
  5. run a controlled test of the Workflow.

The Task uses the selected connection during execution. Protected information must not be made visible to the user operating the Workflow.

Edit or deactivate

The connections table and the details panel show the configuration as a key–value list. The password field is not displayed in these summaries.

Before editing or deactivating a connection:

  1. identify the Workflows that might use it;
  2. agree on the intervention with the relevant owners;
  3. apply the change;
  4. verify the affected Workflows with a controlled test.

An inactive connection is not available for new selections and may prevent the correct functioning of Workflows that require it.
